Phycocyanin Powder
Phycocyanin is a dark blue powder isolated from spirulina. It is both a protein and an excellent natural food coloring, as well as a good health food.
Phycocyanin Powder Edible Characteristic
Phycocyanin is a pigment-protein complex from the light-harvesting phycobiliprotein family, along with allophycocyaninand phycoerythrin.[1] It is an accessory pigment to chlorophyll. All phycobiliproteins are water-soluble, so they cannot exist within the membrane like carotenoids can. Instead, phycobiliproteins aggregate to form clusters that adhere to the membrane called phycobilisomes. Phycocyanin is a characteristic light blue color, absorbing orange and red light, particularly near 620 nm (depending on which specific type it is), and emits fluorescence at about 650 nm (also depending on which type it is). Allophycocyanin absorbs and emits at longer wavelengths than phycocyanin C or phycocyanin R. Phycocyanins are found in Cyanobacteria (also called blue-green algae). We have obtained the United States and the EU organic food certification.

Where can we use Phycocyanin powder
- Phycocyanin can be used as a natural food coloring pigment: phycocyanin is a water-soluble pigment, non-toxic, pure blue, clear and lovely, and can be used as an additive for food coloring agents and cosmetics.
- Phycocyanin can help regulate and synthesize many important enzymes required for human metabolism, and plays an important role in inhibiting the growth of cancer cells and promoting the regeneration of human cells, maintaining the ovaries, and promoting the synthesis of elastin in human body. Protein regulates the body’s immune system, enhances immune system function, and improves the body’s resistance to disease. Therefore, phycocyanin has been hailed as a “food diamond” by food experts.
- Phycocyanin has a significant function of inhibiting cancer cells. Can be made into anti-tumor adjuvant therapy, adjuvant therapy with chemotherapy can enhance the body’s immunity.
- Phycocyanin can promote cell activity, eliminate free radicals in the body, improve ovarian function, and promote rapid synthesis of elastin. According to scientific research, phycocyanin has the effect of stimulating the formation of red blood cell colonies, similar to erythropoietin (epo); regulating white blood cells and increasing lymphocyte activity; increasing physical fitness, promoting red blood cell growth, enhancing immune function and promoting growth development.
